On 3rd December Scott Lavender will be joining us in the studio for a special show looking back at the heyday of Blackwood Miners Institute.
For a period in the 1990s, Blackwood Miners Institute was an essential stop off for any touring band worth their salt.
Ocean Colour Scene, Stiff Little Fingers, Benjamin Zephania, Dub War, The Cowboy Killers and even Coldplay graced the stage of the former Miners Institute in the heart of the South Wales valleys.
Peppermint Iguana also cut its promotional teeth there putting on the likes of The Tofu Love Frogs, Astralasia, Tribal Drift, Man and Headmix Collective in the venue.
A major player in putting The Stute on the map was Scott Lavender, Booking Msnager at the venue (actually, we’re not sure if that was his title, but it will do).
Scott will be joining us to look back on his time at the Stute and spin a few tunes by some of the bands that played on his watch.
Since leaving the Stute Scott has worked with The Barfly and Live Nation in Finland. It would be rude of us to not let Scott bring us up to date and spin some tunes by bands he has worked with since departing the Stute.
To listen live, go to www.dapperfm.co.uk from 8pm on Tuesday 3rd December 2019.
